So I bought an 06 600rr last year after getting rid of my 2000 F4. It has a micron exhaust, scotts steering damper, black double bubble windshield, Power commander III, and has integrated front and rear turn signals. I was perfectly happy with it for the first year I had it, But I absolutely hate riding at night with the stock headlights, so a few weeks ago I bought some 6000k HID's and decided I'd run some LED's inside the headlight to give it the new audi look so here's some pictures from before, during and after, hope you enjoy
low beam
high beam
getting the only 2 bolts that hold the dash assembly on, beside the fairing screws
with the dash assembly missing...looks ugly haha
Just the dash assembly
the back of the dash with the stock headlights still in
The LED strips
painted them with a black paint that bonds to plastics well, I wasn't a fan of the clear and being able to see all the wiring and such
the high beam HID, it was giving me problems, the spring that held it in wasn't reaching far enough on the high beam only for some reason so I had to cut a rubber grommet to sit in the so it would stay
drilled holes to mount the ballasts
with the ballasts in place, also had to cut a bunch of plastic out of the way
with the ballasts and the ignitors..a jumbled mess
cleaned up a little better
drilled a hole to mount the switch so I can run with no headlights, low or low and high beam instead of low beam always being on
with the switch mounted
After this I forgot to take pics of taking the headlights out and breaking them apart cause I was starting to get a good buzz from the beers and totally spaced, but here's what it looks like. Unfortunately I couldn't get any really good shots with the camera cause the LED's are just way too bright
a better shot of the LED's just of the high beam side
low beams with the HID's...what a world of a difference let me tell you
low and high beam
some day time pics, yah the bikes dirty as hell sue me, I polished and waxed it last week
and that's it..Sorry most of the pics are useless but I figured it would be a good semi DIY for anyone that has a 600RR and wanted to do this to their bike. I can answer questions for anyone who needs help if you would like to do this install
