2000 mustang v6 upgrade

hi i have a 2000 v6 mustang and i want to know what is the biggest or strongest engine i could put in it without having to make too many modifications. ive looked around for engines online and have seen ford racing engines but run up to $18,000. i just want to make my car run fast without spending too much. if anyone can give me some tips that would be great.
