1998 ford escort shimmy question

i bought a 98 ford escort and im trying to figure out why the car shimmys on acceleration about 35mph on up, but i stop accelerating it quits shimming. i replaced the tie rod end and it didnt solve it, i know the tires a little bit tallier than the recommended tire size for the car, could this be why? any advice will help. thank you
