96 camaro coolant hose problem

my cars been leaking coolant for a wile now and its never bothered me because id just put some coolant in every few months, but today one of the hoses broke/came loose and i tried to see if i could just put them back together but it didnt look like it was going to hold. i took some pictures of it just so you guys might have a better idea of what im talking about. just click it to make it bigger.

The green circle is the hose that came loose, and the blue circle is where it looks like it goes. it looks like there is a metal thing that holds the pipes together.

i tired putting them together and they fit but they dont stay

so what i need to know is this just a new hose fix or is it an expensive fix where i need a new everything?
