greetings from pinellas county! I come to this forum seeking help. my brother's 93 century is dead. apparently the petcock on the radiator came loose and the engine seized up good. so I'm now in the market for a new engine.

the question is, if I were to pull the brain and such from a junk car, would I be able to easily drop in the 3.8l? I don't know too much about buicks (I own a saturn and a toyota), so I'm not even sure if there was a 3.8 in 93. the car currently has the 3.3. I say easily as in bolt-in. I don't have any real tools, just the basics. so I can't make stuff work, if you know what I mean :p the alternator, water pump and everything still work fine, so I'm hoping they, if I can drop that 3.8 in, will bolt up to that, though I doubt it..lol nothing goes that well

I noticed this car is almost identical to the 89 cutlass ciera. except the ciera had a 4 speed with overdrive. or was it a 3 speed with 2 gear transaxle..? I can't remember atm. I do remember it shifting 5 times in OD...

that being the case, would I be able to swap the stock 3 speed auto with anything else? since it'll be out of the car anyway.

I apologize if any of this info was already posted somewhere. I tried searching for engine swap info, but didn't come up with anything.
