Maf issue 95 riviera

hi,
i have a 1995 buick riviera with a 3800 series II non supercharged engine, haveing issues with mass air flow sensor, replaced the maf sensor after i had a check engine code indicating that was the problym. wored fine for a day or so now i am back to square one and am haveing the same issue with it again. i have a scanner that i use to read my cars live data nd am getting no signal from the maf senser what so ever. other than a short in the wireing is there anyother senario that may be causeing this problym.
